Cancellation Policy

Thank you for booking a tour with DC by Foot.

We strive to be as flexible and accommodating as possible while also respecting the time and commitment of our guides, who reserve specific dates and times once a tour is booked.


IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • Tours operate rain or shine. In certain circumstances, rescheduling, delays, or time adjustments may be possible at the guide’s discretion.
  • Tours are scheduled for a specific start time. If you arrive late, the tour may be shortened in order to respect the guide’s schedule and other commitments.
  • Tours are confirmed upon payment. For private tours, full payment is required at least two (2) weeks in advance, unless an alternative arrangement has been agreed upon in writing.
  • Guests under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult, non-student chaperone. We are unable to lead tours for groups that arrive without an adult chaperone. If a group arrives without an adult present, the guide will wait until an adult arrives. Refunds will not be issued if the tour cannot proceed due to the absence of an adult chaperone.

If you anticipate delays, accessibility-related needs, or special circumstances, please contact us as soon as possible so we can do our best to assist.


By completing payment and confirming your booking, all members of your party agree to our Terms & Conditions and Touring Safely Policies.


CANCELLATION POLICY FOR PRIVATE TOURS

  • Tours canceled one (1) week or more prior to the scheduled start date are subject to a 50% cancellation fee.
  • Tours canceled with less than 48 hours’ notice prior to the tour start time are non-refundable.
  • In place of cancellation, we may offer tour credit for private tours canceled with less than one week’s notice. Tour credit does not expire and may be applied to a future booking.
  • Tours canceled by DC by Foot will be fully refunded.

CANCELLATION POLICY FOR PUBLIC TOURS

  • Payment is required at the time of booking.
  • Full refunds are available if cancellation notice is provided at least 24 hours prior to the tour start time. Some tours require additional notice; please refer to your confirmation email for specific requirements.
  • Rescheduling is permitted with any amount of notice, provided the new date and time already have a tour scheduled and availability allows (this requires other guests to be booked on the new departure).

Accessibility & Special Circumstances

If you have accessibility needs, medical considerations, or circumstances that may affect your ability to attend as scheduled, we encourage you to contact us in advance. While standard cancellation policies apply, we are happy to discuss options where reasonable and appropriate.
