Seasonal Tours

Washington DC changes with the seasons and some of its best experiences only exist for a few weeks at a time.

Cherry blossoms that bloom for just two weeks each spring. Holiday lights that transform the city every December. Ghost tours that hit differently when the nights are long and the leaves are falling. Our seasonal tours are designed around those moments – the ones that make a particular time of year in DC genuinely unlike any other.

These tours have limited availability and they fill up fast. If you see something that fits your travel dates, book sooner rather than later.

Spring: Cherry Blossoms

For a few weeks each spring the Tidal Basin transforms into one of the most beautiful places in the country. Our cherry blossom tours are timed around peak bloom and led by guides who know which trees bloom early, which bloom late, and how to get the most out of the experience even when nature doesn’t cooperate on schedule. One of DC’s most fleeting and most memorable seasonal events and one of our most popular tours of the year.

Fall: Halloween and Ghost Tours

Ghost tours run year round in DC but they hit differently in October. The nights are longer, the air is cooler, and the atmosphere in Georgetown and along the Mall takes on a quality that is genuinely hard to describe until you have experienced it. Our fall ghost tours and Halloween specialty experiences are among our most booked seasonal offerings and they sell out fast.

Winter: Holiday Lights

Washington DC in December is a different city entirely. The monuments are lit, the city is decorated, and our holiday lights bus tours take you through the best of it in comfort — the National Mall, Embassy Row, and the neighborhoods that go all out for the season. A warm, festive, and genuinely magical way to spend a winter evening in the capital.

Planning Around a Specific Season?

Visiting during cherry blossom season?

Peak bloom in DC typically falls between late March and mid-April but varies by year. Our cherry blossom tours are scheduled around predicted peak and our guides know how to find blossoms even when the timing is off. We add more days and times when peak bloom is announced.

Visiting in October or around Halloween?

Our fall ghost tours and Halloween specialty experiences are some of our most atmospheric offerings of the year. Georgetown at night in late October is an experience worth planning your trip around. These tours sell out weeks in advance so do not wait.

Visiting in December?

Our holiday lights bus tours run through December and are one of the best ways to see the city during the festive season- warm, comfortable, and covering far more ground than you could cover on foot in an evening. Great for families, couples, and groups. Book early as these fill up quickly around the holidays.
